A Algarve Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects Association extended the deadline for applications for the Regional Architecture Award until the 30th of August.
This is the first edition of this annual award, which will be awarded to the best proposal presented, in each of the five categories proposed.
According to OA Regional Section, which celebrates a year of existence tomorrow, Friday, 9th of July, the award aims to «promote and encourage architectural quality, the dignification of the urban image and the enhancement and safeguarding of the Algarve's heritage».
This award is intended to reward the architect(s) who author(s) a work built in the Algarve, public or private, that stands out for its architectural and constructive quality.
The attribution of the Regional Architecture Award will be combined with the preparation of exhibitions, conferences and public presentations, contributing to the promotion of the Algarve, involving all Municipalities and Regional Entities.
