São Brás de Alportel delivers a vote of praise to Luís and Filipa Viriato

Luís and Filipa are leaders of the local Salvation Army nucleus

The Chamber of São Brás de Alportel this Tuesday delivered a vote of praise to Luís and Filipa Viriato as "fair recognition for the dedication and commitment" of the two leaders of the local Salvation Army nucleus.

The award, whose attribution was unanimously approved in the Chamber Meeting, recognizes the «meritorious solidary and altruistic contribution to the São Brasense community, for nearly a decade, as leading officers of the local São Brás de Alportel Nucleus of the Salvation Army » of the two winners, “as they complete another stage of their social and civic journey and embrace a new mission, heading for England”.

«For almost 10 years, Luís and Filipa Viriato have honored and deepened the civic and solidary participation of the Salvation Army's Local Nucleus, an active member of the municipality's Social Network, an integral part of a numerous set of projects and initiatives to which the couple of officers surrendered with selfless dedication and exemplary dedication in the service of others», according to the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.

Among the solidarity projects to which Luís and Filipa Viriato are linked are the Local Platform for Food Aid, the Social Store, the Solidarity Market, the Solidarity Dinner and the Social Warehouse.

The two Salvation Army leaders also stood out for their “active participation in a set of structures, including the Municipal Housing Commission and the Local Council for Social Action of São Brás de Alportel”.
