“Restart Algarve Innovation” brings the reflection on economic recovery to Portimão

Two workshops and a round table will be promoted

A "caravan" of entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and representatives of various public institutions will "park" in the auditorium of the Portimão Museum on June 21, to participate in the event "Restart Algarve Innovation", a roadshow to reflect on economic recovery.

This is an initiative of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), the University of Algarve (UAlg-CRIA) and the Nucleus of Entrepreneurs of the Algarve Region (NERA), which has been covering the 16 Algarve municipalities since 21 May, to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and entrepreneurship.

This roadshow will have a face-to-face component, although directed at "a reduced number of participants, between 30 to 40 people, in compliance with the health regulations in force" and will be broadcast live on social media.

The structure of this event «is that of an open day, divided into two workshops with several lectures», described the Câmara de Portimão.

In the morning, the workshop “Create your company” will be promoted, promoted by ANJE, which «has as a target audience young people, entrepreneurs and the unemployed, and intends to stimulate interest in entrepreneurial initiative, as well as provide some useful tools in the process of creation of one's own job or business'.

The opening session, scheduled for 10:00 am, will be attended by Juan Pablo Correia (ANJE), Hugo Barros (UAlg), Marco Vieira (NERA) and Isilda Gomes, president of the Municipality of Portimão

The speakers at the workshop itself will be João Amaro, who will represent the organization of the event, Vanessa Batista (Creative Territories/StartUp Portimão), Pedro Esteves (Link-a-Ring), Raquel Melo (Inboundware), Pedro Freixo (Captain Nemo Algarve) and Pedro Palma (IEFP).

During the afternoon, there will be a session “Innovation, Internationalization and Financing”, promoted by NERA, which will focus “on the presentation of good business practices in these areas, as well as priority areas for financing by European funds foreseen in the Recovery and Resilience Plan and in the Algarve Operational Program 2021 – 2027».

This workshop «also includes the presentation of the Innovative Projects Competition “Inova Algarve 2.0” and has as target audience entrepreneurs and executives of start-ups and companies in the municipality of Portimão», according to the municipality.

The list of speakers includes Aquiles Marreiros (CCDR-Algarve) and Vera Gomez (IAPMEI), as well as entrepreneurs Luís Silva (Imagined Technologies), Hugo Mariano (Salivitae) and Ricardo Sobral (Ricky Travel), who will testify about «projects innovation and internationalization a».

This is followed by the round table “RX to the impacts of the pandemic in the municipality and challenges for the future”, which meets one of the complementary objectives assumed by the organizers of the initiative, that of «drawing a socio-economic portrait of the Algarve, allowing to assess the impacts caused by the current pandemic and identify strategies to support economic recovery».

“For this purpose, experts and professionals from different areas (social, cultural, political and economic) were invited to debate, in a round table, the past, present and future of the territory”, according to the Portimão Chamber.

After the round table, there will be a period of debate and the closing session, which will be chaired by Filipe Vital, vice president of the Chamber.
