Quarteira will have a new day care center for 96 children at Forte Novo

The investment is around 2,3 million euros

Quarteira will have a new crèche, in the Forte Novo area, with a capacity for 96 children. The beginning of the procedure for the construction of this space has already been approved by the City Council of Loulé, announced the municipality this Friday, June 11th.

The investment, of around 2,3 million euros, comes “to respond to the high birth rate in Quarteira, one of the youngest parishes in the region, making up for the lack of existing equipment aimed at early childhood”.

“We know that one of the biggest difficulties for families is to find a safe space with good conditions to leave their youngest children while they go to work. We have no doubt that this crèche will be a quality response with a great social impact for the population of Quarteira», considered Vítor Aleixo, president of the Loulé City Council.

This school equipment, with eight rooms, will be located in a lot located on Avenida Francisco Sá Carneiro and will consist of three main areas: the rooms for babies (0-12 months), which will be in a sheltered and quieter area, the cafeteria/multipurpose room, kitchens and administrative spaces and, finally, the space reserved for rooms aged 12-24 months and 24-36 months, where private patios will be created for each room.

For the main recreation area, a covered area is planned, where children can play outdoors.
