A fire in debris, in a vacant lot on Avenida D. Afonso Henriques, in the riverside area of Portimão, which could endanger a clothing and utility store, a warehouse and even a commercial gas establishment, was this Monday, day 7, dominated in about 30 minutes by firefighters from Portimo.
The fire alert was received at the Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Center at 11:32 am yesterday, with the intervention force of the Fire Department of Portimão (on duty at the headquarters) arrived at the site 6 minutes after the dispatch.
"During the combat operations, which confined the fire to the area initially affected (where plastic, wood and other structures, as well as residues burned) and despite the significant production of toxic smoke, there were no victims", emphasize the Firefighters of Portimão.
The Public Security Police ensured a security perimeter and traffic management on the adjacent streets, with emphasis on Avenida D. Afonso Henriques.
In the operations, 16 operational and six vehicles, Firefighters and PSP, were involved.
