It is not yet this year that the Motard Concentration of Faro. The Motorcycle Club of Faro decided to cancel the event for the second consecutive year, due to the pandemic, but is preparing several initiatives so that the third weekend of July continues to be dedicated to motorbikes in the Algarve's capital.
José Amaro, president of the Motoclube de Faro, explained to Sul Informação that “this was a decision that had been taken for some time. A camp always brings more problems than a concert, for example, where people audition and can join. In this case, they stay there for several days. It was impossible, within the spirit of the Concentration, to hold the event».
Even so, revealed José Amaro, «we have some things planned, nothing fancy», for the third weekend of July.
At the Regional Conservatory there will be the Cinemoto film festival Faro, on Friday and Saturday, the 16th and 17th, and it will also be in this space that there will be meetings dedicated to motorcycling and an exhibition of 16 photographs, which have already been on display at the Museu dos Coches.
«We will also have, as last year, the exhibition in Baixa de Faro, in the place where Zara's store used to be, which will be open until the end of the month», said José Amaro.
In Jardim Manuel Bívar, motorcycle dealers will be present and there will also be live music.
Even without concentration, the weekend ends, on Sunday morning, with “a small parade to mark the date”.
All of this, if the pandemic stops, as José Amaro recalls, "now we have this in mind, but things can change and we have to adapt."
