Albufeira will have a “Cabinet SOS Empresas” to help entrepreneurs in the municipality, in partnership with the Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve (ACRAL). The cooperation protocol was signed last Friday, June 2nd.
The space will work temporarily on the premises of the Albufeira Business Reception Center (CAE).
The City Council provided ACRAL with financial support in the amount of 18 thousand euros, divided into three monthly installments of three thousand euros, while the association is committed to preparing the space with all the equipment, as well as providing the necessary human resources.
This structure aims to support, guide, inform, monitor and promote the economic fabric of the county, in an attempt to improve the response to the serious problems that entrepreneurs are going through due to the pandemic, which «has uncovered the weaknesses of the economic sector that most prospered», said José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira.
Following the experience acquired with the “Cheque-Prenda” program, an initiative carried out with ACRAL, José Carlos Rolo underlined that “the association promoted a consultation with its members to understand the difficulties they have felt in evaluating the measures that were taken. being decreed by the Government over time, as well as to inquire about the need to implement new measures to support the regional economy».
The initiative is based on a multidisciplinary team that "aimed at responding to sensitive areas such as legal, accounting or financial, banking, support and applications, among others fundamental to the survival of companies", emphasizes the mayor.
The office is dedicated to providing information, guidance on the incentives and support available to companies with financial difficulties, presenting solutions in various aspects, streamlining procedures and developing partnerships that can enhance economic activity.
“As an association, we have received immense requests for help from entrepreneurs from the most varied areas of business, who have had immense difficulty in interpreting the separate legislation that is being published by the Government,” said Paulo Alentejano, president of ACRAL.
This space will provide answers in the legal area (renegotiation of contracts and other situations), finance (banking, consolidation of credits, review of moratoria, etc.), accounting and all the applications (framework of companies with a view to resorting to supports available).
"All of this is complicated and businessmen feel unsupported, hence the need to create a service that can respond to the difficulties experienced on a daily basis," concluded the president of ACRAL.
