Faro has, since today, 3 May, a “Cabinet SOS Empresas”. This project intends, at a time when entrepreneurs are facing particular difficulties due to the pandemic, to clarify doubts in the legal, accounting, financial, banking areas, or in the preparation of applications for support.
The “Cabinet SOS Empresas” is an initiative of ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region, supported by the Chamber of Faro.
At the inauguration of the space, Paulo Alentejano, president of the association, revealed that he challenged the municipality to create a «multidisciplinary team that would respond to merchants and services in the municipality» at this time problematic for many of them.
Headquartered in the store "Faro. We are All”, in Rua Lethes, this was a need “immediately welcomed [by the municipality], because it was a need that we also felt”, praised Rogério Bacalhau, president of the City Council.
This space will be available to «all entrepreneurs and traders who need to ask any questions».
Paulo Alentejano explained that there are many entrepreneurs who see “a television news [about support] and, in the next minute, want an answer. They usually call the accountant who doesn't know the details yet. This creates great wear. I think the accountants have been “very massacred”, mainly with small businesses and services».
Rogério Bacalhau hopes that this “Cabinet SOS Empresas” «results. And, essentially, it will work if people use it.”
The mayor admits that "we will not have answers for everything, but, in these situations, we will be able to direct the businessmen, even if it is to the competent services, which can clarify these doubts."
For now, this initiative will start in Faro, but, revealed Paulo Alentejano, questioned by the Sul Informação, there are “other municipalities also interested” in creating offices of this kind.
ACRAL made “this challenge to several city councils” and “from some we already have positive responses. We are seeing how we are going to articulate things», added the association leader.
The office is intended for all entrepreneurs in the municipality Faro, operating in a space that allows individualized and personalized service.
