Citizens by CEAT debate "Nature's Animals: The Right of Todxs"

“Animals and Nature: The Right of Todxs”. This is the theme of another session of the Citizenship Forum, an online event scheduled for this Sunday, May 23, at 18:00, and which can be seen on the facebook page of the Citizens movement by CEAT and Urban Gardens of Tavira.

This session has the partnership of the Tavira MAIS Animals movement.

“The way in which we see our relationship with animals and nature will be under discussion”, says the organizers of the event.

For this, we will have the presence of Sandra Teixeira do Carmo (researcher in the area of ​​Law and university professor), Rui Pedro do Carmo (researcher in the area of ​​Sociology and author of the book A vaca que não laugh), Inês Sousa Real (deputy of the Assembly da República and former Ombudsman for Animals in Lisbon), Juliana Miranda (lawyer and activist), Noel Santos (representative of Animal Save & Care Portugal) and Moisés Corvo Romero (representative of RIAS – Center for the Recovery and Investigation of Wild Animals).

These guests will address the following topics: "The relationship between human rights and animal rights", "Feminism, nature and animals", "The correlation of violence against humans and non-humans", "Livestock exploitation and "animal welfare" .

The session will be held on the Zoom platform and broadcast live on the Facebook pages of the organizing movements that will moderate the debate.

This initiative intends to promote joint reflection on the most varied themes, inviting ordinary people to a participative citizenship and to contribute to a paradigm shift that allows building a more sustainable society.
