The 12-metre catamaran from Algarve “Sunconcept Cat 12.0” won the “prestigious” international award Multihull of the Year 2021, in the Multipower category, given by readers of Multihull magazine.
This is a 100% electric vessel, whose main source of energy is the sun, conceived and built in the shipyards of the company Sun Concept, located in Olhão.
“This distinction is a reward for the effort, commitment and development of our shipyard. Another milestone for Portuguese shipbuilding, whose history has so influenced that of world naval and nautical construction», believes João Bastos, commercial director of the Algarve company.
"We are very happy. For the first time, one of the most prestigious international awards comes to Portugal, in particular to the Algarve», he reinforced.
The “Sunconcept Cat 12.0”, launched in 2019 and which has two models, the Cruise and the Lounge, is one of those that tops the portfolio of products created by the shipyards of Olhão and was one of the stars from the Vilamoura Boat Show, during which it was officially launched.

Without spilling oils in the waters they navigate, without producing exhaust fumes that harm the environment, without causing noise pollution and without consuming fossil fuels, they navigate in perfect harmony with Nature, even in protected places», states the representative of Sun Concept.
