The Lagos Dance Association will be distinguished by the municipality «for the excellent results» obtained in the “All Dance Portugal Hybrid 2021”, which took place last weekend, in Santa Maria da Feira.
The Municipality of Lagos unanimously approved a vote of congratulations and praise addressed to the Association of Dance of Lagos (ADL), congratulating the students/practitioners, teachers and directors of this association for the four first places and the four second positions obtained in that competition.
In all, around 2021 choreographies were presented at the “All Dance Portugal Hybrid 600”, by 39 schools/associations/groups across the country.
«ADL participated with 19 dancers and exhibited 16 solo, duet and group choreographies, in the modalities of Contemporary, Reportório or Fragmento Ballet, Inédita Ballet, Modern Jazz, Contemporary Jazz and Ethnic Dances», according to Câmara de Lagos.
«These results guarantee the participation of ADL in the “All Dance World Hybrid 2021”, which will take place in Orlando (USA), from the 24th to the 28th of November, 2021”, added the local authority lacobrigense.
Hugo Pereira, resident of the Chamber, «highlighted the excellence and value of ADL, the result of hard work, dedication, rigor, demand, perseverance and professionalism, of directors, teachers and students/athletes, enabling numerous participations in national and international championships, which they not only reinvigorate the participants' motivation and the value of the dance, they also honor and elevate the name of the municipality of Lagos».
In the presentation of the proposal, Hugo Pereira added, jokingly, that «each time the Dance Association leaves Lagos it is to win and bring a collection of prizes», thus deserving «this symbolic, but felt recognition, thus as the support of the municipality, which will do everything so that this community can continue the brilliant path it has been building».
