Workers of culture hold a “veil” in Faro by industry professionals

The initiative will take place on April 21 at Jardim Manuel Bívar/ Doca de Faro.

The cultural workers will hold a "veil" on the 21st of April, between 10:00 and 17:00, next to Jardim Manuel Bívar, in Faro, in a symbolic street action.

«Exactly 11 months after the Culture and Arts Vigil, we are back on the street», says the nucleus of Faro of this movement.

“For those who are still resisting and for those who had to give up, we go back to the street. We came back with all the struggle to ask and with many questions that we want an answer to», they explain.

This time, the initiative will have a different mold: professionals in the sector will go out on the street “with just a coffin”.

«Within it, symbolically, will be all those who are left behind every day», adds the nucleus of Faro of the “Culture and Arts Vigil”.

“If in May 2020 we asked: 'what if we had been left without culture?' in an invitation to an imaginative exercise that we knew would be impossible (because culture and the arts will never disappear), today we ask: “what if we ran out of cultural professionals?”, in an exercise that seems much more realistic to us.», adds the organization.

This initiative calls for «all workers in culture, arts and events, as well as all those who enjoy it and all those who consume it».
