StartUp Portimão will promote, on April 21st and 22nd and May 19th and 20th, the 2nd Online Acceleration Bootcamp in the Algarve.
This initiative will follow «the good practices of incubators and entrepreneurship centers around the world, which seek to counteract inertia and reinvent themselves, stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit», says the Câmara de Portimão.
«This is the first initiative of a set of actions scheduled for the first half of April, in online format, which aim to awaken the Algarve entrepreneurial ecosystem and minimize the harmful effects of Covid-19 in the medium term, offering alternative solutions for development and acceleration of business".
Similar to what happened in 2020, Smart Cities and the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals continue to be the two transversal themes at all times during this period. bootcamp, whose sessions will be in English and which will have an intensive training program aimed at all entrepreneurs who wish to have a unique experience, developing various types of skills.
The bootcamp will have talks inspiring sessions open to the public, as well as several sessions aimed at selected entrepreneurs with moments of networking e speed mentoring, pitch stations and thematic talks.
The range of topics is quite varied and includes areas such as finance, marketing, approaching investors, sources of investment, aspects of improving decision-making, pitch training and the challenges created by Covid-19, among others.
For the development of the business plan, the intuitive tool Startup Academy Plan will be used, designed by the Creative Territories, with reference to the fact that this Bootcamp is open to interested entrepreneurs, who will be accompanied by renowned mentors, in the continuation of the incubator's affirmation path Portimonense with the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
To culminate the 2nd Bootcamp of Online Acceleration in the Algarve, a conference on the theme of Smart Cities and ODS is scheduled for May 20, broadcast in live streaming, at the end of which the selected projects will present their pitches to a jury that will give your feedback.
To promote the initiative to the educational community, from 14 pm on this Tuesday, April 00th, a virtual roadshow will take place especially aimed at secondary schools and universities in Portimão, through the Zoom platform, and it will also be broadcast on the StartUp Portimão Facebook.
This bootcamp is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Portimão, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, the Creative Territories and GEN Portugal, which represents the Global Entrepreneurship Network among us, which operates a platform of projects and programs in 170 countries with the aim to develop ideas and transform them into new entrepreneurial projects.

But StarUp Portimão's activity plan does not give entrepreneurs any respite, and on the 7th of April, at 14:30 pm, a clarification session on the Acredita Portugal Program takes place.
Banco Montepio Acredita Portugal is the largest entrepreneurship competition in the country, having supported more than 100 projects in the last ten editions. In cooperation with several partners, companies or projects are promoted at an early stage, by offering mentoring, training, investment opportunities and numerous awards.
This clarification session will address the main lines of the competition, which is also a free online educational program, aimed at anyone who has a business idea or an entrepreneurial project under development. The action will be promoted by Filipe Cordeiro, head startups of the Association Acredita Portugal, and interested parties should use the following subscription link.
Two days later, on April 9, the networking breakfast “Associativism and social intervention” starts at 9:30 am, with the participation of Luís Brito, president of the Teia D'Impulsos association from Portimo.
The proposal on the table will be a conversation about the importance of the associative movement in the territories and the intervention it can have within the local society. Applications must be made. this link.
Finally, the presentation of the book “Finanças com Confiança” was scheduled for 10:00 am on April 14, which deals with the theoretical concepts and techniques of financial management in a very intuitive way.
The work, which contains several activities that allow exemplifying the applicability of the concepts, is not only intended for those who are curious about the topic, but also for entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and leaders of organizations.
