The Chamber of Silves will once again honor couples celebrating their 50th anniversary of marriage (Golden Wedding), with a mass and a celebratory lunch.
Registration for the tribute is running until May 7, being open to couples who have completed the Golden Wedding in 2020 or this year.
For this registration it is necessary to fill in a form available on the website in the municipality of Silves, in the City Council or in the parish councils in the area of residence.
The program includes the realization of a Eucharist, during which the blessing of the alliances of couples will be made, and a commemorative lunch, of a restricted nature, complying with all the measures and guidelines of the DGS.
«The municipality of Silves intends, through this initiative, not only to value this date and the life experiences of these unions, but also to crown all these stories that are examples of resilience and love», says Rosa Palma, mayor of Silves.
The mayor adds that «the realization of this activity, even in a period of health crisis, may be the only way that these couples have to mark this very important date in their life together, so the Municipality of Silves decided to resume this activity (discontinued last year) in ways that ensure compliance with all measures and guidelines issued by the health authorities».
