The project is complete, but there is still an obstacle that has not yet allowed progress with the water and basic sanitation works, along the EN125. The Loulé Council and the Parish Councils of Quarteira, Boliqueime and São Sebastião are asking the population for help to identify landowners through which the pipelines will pass.

In a video in which the four mayors are present, Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, explained that “about 50 owners are not yet known”, out of a total of 400.

"It was important for the population to help us identify who the owners are so that they can be approached and reach an agreement," added the mayor.

After much controversy, which led the residents themselves to demonstrate for not having water and basic sanitation and also involved the EN125 concessionaire, the Chamber of Loulé presented a project in 2019.

A solution, outlined by the autarchy, he moved away from the construction ditches from the road platform, passing behind the houses. In other words: the layout of the work was removed from the road, avoiding having to dig it all over again.
