Loulé awards work for the new University Health Center

The Municipality of Loulé participates in the work with 65%, while ARS will keep 35% of the financial charges

The work of the new Health Services Building in Loulé, which includes a University Health Centre, has already been awarded for around 5 million euros. The process will now follow for approval by the Court of Auditors, and then the works will be able to start.

«On the land provided by the Municipality, next to the Loulé Health Centre, the construction work of this unit will soon start, which will have an execution period of two and a half years», says the City Council of Loulé.

This will be “a single space where four areas will be concentrated: the Group of Central Health Centers – ACES Central, Family Health Unit (USF) – Lauroé and Community Care Unit (UCC) – Gentes de Loulé, as well as the Center of University Health”.

"These spacious and modern facilities will not only substantially improve the services provided to users and the conditions in which many health professionals work, but also ensure adequate conditions for the undergraduate teaching of medicine and nursing at the University of Algarve, research and postgraduate training in health for professionals from the Algarve Regional Health Administration», explains the municipality.

This is an initiative in which local and central administrations are partners. The Municipality of Loulé contributes 65% to the work, while ARS will keep 35% of the financial charges.

In the municipality of Loulé, in addition to this unit, more projects are underway in the context of construction and requalification of healthcare facilities, namely in Quarteira and Almancil.
