Regional Directorate of Culture launches program to support the publication of works on the Algarve

The Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve (DRCAlg) will open, on the 19th of April, applications for the Program to Support the Publication of Thematic Works on the Algarve, an initiative that aims to promote and disseminate knowledge about history and identity the region's cultural heritage.

The Support Program for the Publication of Thematic Works about the Algarve is an annual program, within the scope of cultural action, intended to share the costs of publishing and/or production of unpublished works, which contribute to promoting and disseminating knowledge about history and the cultural identity of the Algarve.

This support “translates into the acquisition of copies of books or audiovisual works, or into financial support for their publication, in a non-repayable contribution. The budget allocation for the program, for this year, is 10 thousand euros», says the DRCAlg.

Eligible works are all book publishing activities, including the graphic design of electronic publishing, or editing/production of films, audio recordings, or others.

All authors, natives or residents of the Algarve or cultural associations based in the region can benefit from this support. Exceptionally, authors and cultural associations from outside the region who present works dealing with topics of special direct interest and relevant to the Algarve may be considered eligible.
