Covid-19: Algarve has 66 new cases

There are 66 new cases of Covid-19 and no deaths due to this disease in the Algarve, according to the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) this Wednesday, April 14, which has just been released.

In another day without fatalities in the Algarve region, something that has happened since Friday, there was a considerable increase in the number of new cases, from one day to another (+53).

Across the country, there are 684 more infected with the new coronavirus (+276 than yesterday) and 8 deaths (+3) caused by this disease.

 

 

In numbers accumulated since the start of the pandemic, a total of 828.657 cases and 16.931 deaths from Covid-19 were reported.

Today, there are 16 more active cases nationwide, bringing the total to 25.457.

Those recovered were 660 (786.469 since the start of the pandemic).

In hospitals, the number of inpatients dropped by 12, to 447. In intensive care, there are now two fewer patients (116 in total).

 

 

Wednesday, as usual, was the day for updating the risk matrix, with both variables in this table worsening and evolving more and more towards the yellow sector of the matrix.

In terms of incidence, it is at 72,4 cases of infection per 100 inhabitants, nationwide, and 69,0 cases per 100, excluding the accounts of the autonomous regions of Madeira and Azores.

Previously it was at 70 and 67,4, respectively.

The R(t), the transmissibility index, rose to 1,06 across the country and to 1,05, if only the Mainland numbers are taken into account (previously it was 1.04 and 1,03, respectively) .

 

 

By region, the North has the most new cases, 265, followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (188), Centro (66), Algarve (66), Alentejo (43), Madeira (33) and Azores (23) .

There are 18.404 contacts under surveillance (+391).
