Humor gives way to music, in the show by the Luso-Helvetic trumpeter Leon Baldesberger and his project Meersalz, which presents grilled orange, the third album of originals, on May 13th, at 19:30 pm.
Considered the “Best of Swiss Jazz Bachelor” in 2012, the project has performed on renowned stages in Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and Spain and now brings to Teatro das Figuras a combination of minimalism, complex rhythms, harmonies and improvisation.
The performance concert of One Word Starting with N, Noiserv's last work published in 2020, which «takes a more confessional tone than the previous recordings and gets closer to the listener through its sound combined with the mother tongue», will be presented on Friday, the 14th, at 19:30 pm.
The next day, the musician returns to Teatro das Figuras to share his experience as a composer, in a record of conversation and dialogue with all the participants.
In May, the artistic residencies return to Ilha da Culatra. Luís Fernandes (musician, sound artist and cultural programmer) and Pierce Warnecke (visual and sound artist) will capture the environment and atmosphere of that very particular community and translate it into a sound record. In this perspective, the Portuguese composer, pianist and pedagogue João Domingos Bomtempo (1775-1842), assumes an important role.
