Nuno Markl and Vasco Palmeirim learn to make cataplana live on social media

Presenters will have the help of chef Margarida Vargues

Nuno Markl and Vasco Palmeirim will promote the Algarve in a "lively mission" that will involve fresh fish, regional wine and "a lot of culinary expertise". The pair of presenters will learn how to make cataplana and the class can be followed, live, on March 25, at 20:30, on the page Facebook VisitAlgarve.

«Fresh products from the Algarve, wine from the region and a dash of humor are the ingredients of the cooking class in which the broadcasters will participate on the next 25th», highlights the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA).

Markl and Palmeirim will have the help of chef Margarida Vargues, who will explain the steps needed to make a cataplana in the Algarve style.

«But the best thing is that the class will be broadcast in real time to all Portuguese, who will be able to see online comedians getting their hands dirty (or rather, fish and seafood) without cutting or editing», highlights RTA.

The action is by Turismo do Algarve and is the second that the regional tourism entity organizes in this format (the first took place on 12 March and was addressed to bloggers and journalists in the Spanish market).

«Some loves are conquered by the belly and it is through the flavors of the Algarve that, this time, we want to keep destiny in the hearts of the Portuguese, so that they know that we are waiting for them as soon as the circulation restrictions resulting from the pandemic are lifted. We have the precious help of a duo that is already familiar to us – Nuno Markl and Vasco Palmeirim – and who will generate the greatest buzz around the action», says João Fernandes, president of Turismo do Algarve.

With an approximate duration of 90 minutes, the showcooking starts at 20:30 pm on the Facebook page VisitAlgarve, with simultaneous transmission in the Instagram VisitAlgarve and on the channel VisitAlgarve's Youtube, where it will be available later.

This action is organized by Turismo do Algarve, together with Tertúlia Algarvia, and is part of the Algarve Cooking Vacations, a project co-financed by CRESC Algarve 2020 – Regional Operational Program for the Algarve.
