New roundabout next to the fire department "increases security" in the center of VRSA

Work will be completed this week

The new roundabout next to the Vila Real de Santo António Fire Brigade (VRSA) will be completed this week and is already helping to "increase security in the city center"

The structure was built at the old intersection between Rua Combatentes da Grande Guerra and Rua Dr. Francisco Sá Carneiro, «providing more safety and better traffic flow in that location served by various public facilities».

"Taking into account the profile of the site, the size of the roundabout and the need to allow the transit of large vehicles, it was decided not to elevate the central platform, adapting the equipment to all types of traffic", according to the Chamber of VRSA.

"On each of the limits of the lanes that join the new roundabout, pedestrian crossings will be placed, carried out in small pavements, in order to guarantee safety at the crossing points", added the municipality.

The intervention, carried out by the municipality of VRSA, cost around 38 thousand euros.
