Nurseries, pre-school, 1st cycle and hairdressers reopen next Monday

Civic duty of collection continues until Easter (inclusive)

Nurseries, pre-school and primary education, as well as hairdressers, barbers and bookstores will reopen this Monday, March 1, the prime minister has just announced. This is the first measure of the deconfinement plan, presented by António Costa.

Also next Monday (March 15th), local businesses of non-essential goods can be opened for sale at the window, as well as manicures, libraries and car sales.

This will be a "dropper" deconfinement, as the prime minister insisted, and activities will gradually reopen.

So, from, from April 5th, 2nd and 3rd cycle schools, museums, monuments and palaces and stores up to 200 square meters with a door to the street return.

Also on the 5th of next month, fairs and markets return (by municipal decision) and low-risk sports. The terraces of cafes and restaurants can also reopen, with a maximum of 4 people per table, and outdoor physical activity is allowed, up to four people, and gyms without group classes.

Two weeks later, the April 19th, secondary and higher education return, and there is also authorization for the reopening of cinemas, theaters, auditoriums, theaters and citizen shops with face-to-face service by appointment.

On the same date, the remaining stores and shopping centers will also reopen and medium-risk sports will return. At the same time, restaurants, cafes and patisseries can have a maximum of 4 people per table, indoors, or 6 on the terraces.

These establishments will, from here, open until 22:00 from Monday to Friday and until 13:00 on weekends and holidays.

Also on the 19th of April, outdoor events return, with reduced capacity, weddings and baptisms (with 25% capacity) and outdoor physical activity can have a maximum of 6 people.

The deconfinement plan will end the May 3. All sporting modalities are now allowed and restaurants, cafes and patisseries will operate without time limit – and with a maximum of 6 people inside and 10 on terraces.

Finally, there will be large outdoor and indoor events with reduced capacity and weddings and baptisms with 50% capacity.

Despite this deconfinement plan, until Easter the measure of civic duty of home collection is in force. In addition to this, there is a ban on movement between municipalities on the weekend and in the week, before Easter, from March 26th to April 5th.

It is that, stressed the prime minister, "if we are much better than two weeks ago, we are still in a worse situation than on May 4, when we started the first deconfinement".

"We can start opening safely, but in a prudent, cautious, gradual and dropper way," he concluded.
