The Councils of Alcoutim, Loulé and São Brás de Alportel are going to support the Health Defense Group (ADS) for Cattle, Sheep and Caprino in the Municipality of Alcoutim with around 20 thousand euros.
The alcouteneja autarchy will give 10 euros, while Loulé will allocate a budget of 9 euros to this association. Finally, São Brás de Alportel will contribute 750 euros.
Alcoutim ADS, based in Giões, is a non-profit association that aims to prevent and combat diseases that can be transmitted from animals to people, as well as animal diseases that affect the economic profitability of a livestock operation.
In addition to Alcoutim, ADS develops its activities in the municipalities of Tavira, Loulé and São Brás de Alportel.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Alcoutim ADS undertakes, with regard to farms located in the counties that comprise it, to ensure periodic and permanent sanitary control of livestock farms, to prevent and combat infectious and parasitic diseases, through measures hygiene and prophylaxis, both medical and sanitary, to improve the hygienic conditions of the holdings and to collaborate with the municipalities, with regard to the preparation and implementation of initiatives that fall within the scope of the pursuit of common objectives.
