The new cardiology service of the Hospital de Faro will be inaugurated this Wednesday, February 17th, at 11:00 am, after renovation works.

According to the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA), these "works allowed the expansion of the area of Electrophysiology and the creation of an Echocardiography Room and a Recovery Room, next to the Coronary Unit, with the aim of supporting these two areas" .

"In terms of comfort and improvement of facilities, the general intervention throughout the service also covered the painting of spaces, replacement of ceilings, lighting and electrical installation, modernization of the patient call and fire detection systems, installation of air conditioning in the corridor and pavement replacement, in a total refurbishment area of 780 square meters», he says.

In the opinion of Horácio Guerreiro, clinical director, «with these works, the overall logistics of the service has improved, especially the functionality in the areas of Hemodynamics and Electrophysiology, therefore in intervention procedures, where the service, traditionally, is very strong».

«It can be said that it is a work that increases the safety and comfort conditions of users and professionals who work there», he concludes.
