Farense has just made official the hiring of Jorge Costa as the new coach of the main football team until the end of the season. The debut on the bench will be this afternoon, February 4, in the I Liga game against Santa Clara, at 15:00, at Estádio de S. Luís.

In a statement published on Facebook, Farense welcomes Jorge Costa and “his technical team on this arrival at our historic club”.

"We are confident that all your commitment and work will lead our team to the best results and will provide the greatest joy to our members and fans," he adds.

Jorge Costa, who was coach of the Romanians at Gaz Metan, comes to take over the position of Sérgio Vieira, former coach of the Algarve who terminated with Farense by mutual agreement.

This is a return of Jorge Costa to the Algarve, where he coached Olhanense in the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons, taking the club back to the XNUMXst Football League at the time.

In his career as a coach, the new Farense coach has also worked for Arouca, Académica, Paços de Ferreira, Braga and the national team of Gabon.
