The Chamber of Faro bought a new minibus, with a capacity of 17 seats, for school transport, aimed mainly at students from the interior of the municipality (Estoi, Santa Bárbara de Nexe, Bordeira and Areal Gordo).
The tender was launched in the form of prior consultation, with a base value of 42 thousand euros, with the company Fiaal-Fomento Industrial e Agrícola do Algarve, Lda. presenting the best proposal, in the amount of 34.923,58 euros plus VAT.
According to the municipality, the purchase of this minibus represents a “significant improvement in the public transport service for children and adults, namely in the context of municipal activities and municipal support for schools”.
The new vehicle will reinforce the passenger transport fleet of the Municipality of Faro, which currently has two “minibuses” with a capacity for 17 passengers, three medium-sized buses (of which one for 27 passengers and two for 39 passengers), a bus with a capacity for 51 passengers and yet another bus for 55 passengers .
