EDP Distribuição is now called E-Redes

Company will maintain the same activity

EDP Distribuição, the company that manages the electricity distribution network in mainland Portugal, was renamed E-Redes, since 29 January.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, E-Redes recalls that “this stage of the image separation process between operators of the same economic group in the electricity sector, in line with the European Commission, was approved by the Regulatory Authority for Energy Services (ERSE). ) on 11 August 2020'.

In October of the same year, the company presented the plan to ensure the transition to the new brand, "which has been implemented, ensuring that this change will be carried out without any cost impact on consumers".

In addition to the change of name from EDP Distribuição to E-Redes, the new brand has «a logo, which assumes a dynamic character in digital formats and a graphic line based on the colors yellow and black».

This change in image means that the logo no longer has “color or design elements common to other companies in the EDP universe”, while “the identification and uniqueness of the distribution network operator” has been reinforced.

Even so, the company clarifies, E-Redes – Distribuição de Eletricidade SA “keeps the essentials. It ensures the same activity, the same contact channels, the same commitment to the energy transition and is committed to continuing to be a trusted brand, close to consumers, fulfilling the obligations of its concession contracts and providing a quality public service, customer-focused and driven by strong social responsibility».
