Docapesca launches new tender to rehabilitate the wharf bridge of the fishing port of Baleeira

New vertical fenders will also be installed

Docapesca launched a new public tender for the rehabilitation of the south wharf bridge of the Baleeira fishing port, in Sagres, with a base price of 1.084.270 euros, after the previous tender had been deserted. This intervention, guarantees the company that manages the ports and auctions, "will restore all the safety conditions of fishing professionals and boats operating in this port".

According to Docapesca, “the intervention in this infrastructure, built around 40 years ago, includes the complete replacement of the superstructure (tray) and the rehabilitation of the pipes. The wharf bridge will be equipped with all the essential equipment for operability and safety: mooring bollards, rings, ladders, multi-purpose modules, new lighting poles and new water and electricity distribution networks».

The company goes on to install "new vertical fenders, suitable for the variation of the tide and fixed to the new head of the tubes".

Docapesca also recalls that «the installation of LED public lighting is in progress in this port as part of the improvement in energy efficiency, involving the assembly of 56 luminaires that will reduce installed power by 60 percent. The works include the replacement of 42 globe-type luminaires and 14 projectors for the 20-metre lighting towers».

The company recalls that, last year, "it completed the installation of nine large containers for keeping nets, ensuring the protection and storage of these equipment, as well as the better organization of the port space".

Last week, the PCP parliamentary group questioned the Government on the resolution of various problems in the fishing port of Baleeira that, according to the communists, have been dragging on for “years”.
