Covid-19: There are 32 more cases in the Algarve and 2 deaths, on a day when new infections fall in the country

The Algarve has 32 more cases of Covid-19 and 2 deaths, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Sunday, February 28, which has just been released.

Across the country, according to DGS, 41 more deaths were reported, 18 more than yesterday, and 718 new confirmed cases of the disease, a lower number compared to this Saturday, when 1071 new infections were reported.

 

 

There are more positive factors at the national level as the number of admissions continues to decline (-15) and now stands at 2.165 patients in hospitals. The pressure on intensive care units is also decreasing, as there are 8 fewer inpatients in this situation. There are 484 across the country.

 

 

The number of recoveries reported this Sunday (1.664) surpassed that of new cases, so the number of active cases dropped across the country (-987) and now stands at 69.268.

Since the start of the pandemic, there are now 804.562 confirmed cases, 16.317 deaths and 718.977 people have recovered from the disease.

The region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo was the one that, this Sunday, had the highest daily number of registered cases (257), followed by the North region (229), Center (97), Alentejo (50), Algarve (32 ), Madeira (35) and Azores (18).

In addition to the 2 deaths registered in the Algarve, today there are 26 more deaths in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, 5 in the Centre, 5 in the North and 3 in Alentejo.

The number of contacts under surveillance dropped this Sunday (-3.076) and are now 45.414 across the country.
