Heavy rain causes flooding in Faro

The occurrences "have not caused relevant damage"

The heavy rain, which fell on the morning of Friday, February 5, caused floods and floods, mainly in the municipality of Faro. 

Contacted by Sul Informação, source from the Algarve Regional Command said that there is a record, so far, of «21 occurrences» throughout the region: 14 of which in the municipality of Faro, either in the city or in Gambelas and Montenegro.

"We have had floods, mainly in basements and garages," explained the same source.

The occurrences "have not caused relevant damage, nor do we have any indication of cut roads or streets," he added.

Moreover, due to the existence of many situations in Faro, in a short period of time, «the resources have already been reinforced and a working group set up».

Outside the Algarve capital, there is a record of flooding, but to a lesser extent, in the municipalities of Loulé, Monchique, Olhão and Tavira.
