Medical students working at CHUA Arena are still waiting to be vaccinated

CHUA has already "administered more than 4600 doses of vaccines"

The medical students who are working at the CHUA Arena, in Portimão, have not yet been vaccinated because they entered service after the "last receipt of vaccines, waiting for the opportunity of a new shipment", revealed this Friday, February 5th, the Center University Hospital of the Algarve.

In a statement sent to the newsrooms, CHUA explains that the Board of Directors decided, even before the opening of this field hospital, “to vaccinate all employees who were placed there for service”.

In this sense, "technical assistants, operational assistants, doctors, nurses, drivers and volunteers were vaccinated". including Isilda Gomes, “as a volunteer with daily intervention at the CHUA Arena”, she justifies.

As for the medical students, they have not yet been inoculated because they arrived «afterwards to the last receipt of vaccines, waiting for the opportunity of a new shipment».

For the rest, the issue of non-vaccination of intern physicians, working at the field hospital, had been highlighted by the PSD/Portimão, in a press release sent last Wednesday, February 3rd.

As for vaccination, in global terms, the CHUA said, in today's communiqué, the 5th, that it has already "administered more than 4600 doses of vaccines in all professional categories, fulfilling the defined priorities."
