Taxis taking food home, free of charge for those who order. “Do Restaurante à Janela do Táxi” is the name of the initiative promoted by the Municipality of Loulé, throughout the municipality, during the general confinement.
«Taxi cooperatives and restaurants in the municipality of Loulé are going through a very difficult period due to the absence of tourist activity and the state of emergency decreed by the President of the Republic, which strongly conditioned the activities of these professionals and companies», begins by framing the autarchy.
In this sense, aware of these difficulties, the Câmara de Loulé wants to «reinforce the activity of restaurants that deliver meals at home, as well as contribute to reducing the movement of people on public roads, in addition to supporting those who are in isolation and there is no way to get your meals”.
The costs of delivering meals from catering establishments to residents of the municipality of Loulé will be covered by the Municipality, i.e. this service has no cost for the establishment, nor for the consumer, who will only be responsible for paying for the ordered meal.
This is an initiative valid for the entire municipality of Loulé, for orders equal to or greater than 10 euros, in restaurants registered on this platform that can be accessed here
