The Grupo Hospitalar Particular do Algarve (HPA) will open, starting next Monday, February 1st, a new Covid-19 testing post at the Hospital Particular de Gambelas, in Faro.

Tests can be performed by PCR (swab) or antigen (IgG and IgM antibodies through blood analysis), with results being available between 24 and 48 hours, respectively.

This fixed post, with walking access (walk-thru) will be open daily, from Monday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 17:30 pm.

Who wants to opt for the system drive-thru, not needing to leave your vehicle to take the test, you can do it in Portimão at the Fairs and Exhibitions Park, also from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 18:00 pm.

Both modalities always require advance booking through the call centers (282 420 400; 222 401 401) or through from this site.

In a press release, the HPA Group warns "that the serological tests for IgG and IgM Antigen antibodies should not be carried out in the acute phase of the infection, as they may give a false negative result".
