The companies Freitasmar (Olhão), Portipesca (Lagoa) and frozen (Lagos) had their projects for the transformation of fishery and aquaculture products approved for the Mar 2020 program. The total investment is around 3 million euros, leveraged by public support of 1,4 million euros.
According to the Algarve Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Fisheries, which is the Intermediate Organism of the Mar 2020 Programme, the objective of the approved projects is to «give a new impulse to business investment».
O Márta 2020 ended the year by publishing success stories of companies, the processing of fishery and aquaculture products, which made their investments with the support of the programme.
Companies located from the north to the south of the country were invited to witness what they have achieved, with the investments made with the support of Mar 2020, in their industrial units, in the Algarve in the case of Southern canner, one of the companies that, with the support of DRAP Algarve, made its investments, thus reinforcing the sector's competitiveness.
