Loulé municipal companies are the most efficient in the country in water distribution

The report is prepared by the Regulatory Authority for Water and Services Services (ERSAR)

The municipal companies Infraquinta (1st) and Infralobo (2nd) are the most efficient in the country in water distribution, according to the unbilled water indicator.

This indicator, defined by the ERSAR - Regulatory Authority for Water and Waste Services, aims to assess the level of economic losses corresponding to water that, despite being captured, treated, transported, stored and distributed, is not billed to users.

In the case of Infraquinta, the ratio is 6,3% and, at Infralobo, 6,9%.

In a press release, Infraquinta considers that «these results demonstrate the work carried out in the field of efficient management of the water resource, only possible through the effective implementation of its strategic plan of environmental responsibility, integrated in the Municipal Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change (EMAAC ) of the Municipality of Loulé'.

Infralobo is also pleased with the result achieved, which represents an improvement over the previous year, when the ratio was 7,7%.

For this municipal company, the results now released "demonstrate the consistency of the work that has been carried out with the implementation of measures for an efficient management of this resource, not only from a technological point of view, but also in terms of investment in the rehabilitation of infrastructures where we occupy the 5th position nationally and we are the 1st in the region».

The report, prepared by the Regulatory Authority for Water Services and Services (ERSAR), assesses the services provided by all entities responsible for the management and supply of water in Portugal for the year 2019.
