Six restaurants in the Algarve received stars in the renowned Michelin Guide for 2021. Compared to last year, there is one less star for the Algarve, due to the closing of “São Gabriel”, in Almancil, at the end of 2019.

The Ocean, at Vila Vita, in Lagoa, and Vila Joya, in Albufeira, keep the two Michelin stars, while Vistas (Cacela), Vista (Praia da Rocha), Gusto (Almancil), and Bon Bon (Lagoa ), keep a star.

At national level, there were two entries, both from Lisbon restaurants. 100 Maneiras, by Ljubomir Stanisic, and Eneko Lisboa, by Eneko Atxa.

Restaurant Check-In, in Faro, enter the category “Bib Gourmand”

Portugal has a total of seven restaurants with two Michelin stars and 21 with one star, one more than in the 2020 edition.

It still has won the top rating in the Michelin Guide (three stars), which was awarded to 11 restaurants in Spain.

In another category, the “Bib Gourmand”, which distinguishes restaurants with a great price-quality ratio, there is a new Algarve: the “Check-In Faro”, by Leonel Pereira (former head of São Gabriel).
