Farense beat Marítimo by 2-1, in the 9th round of the I League of football, played this Monday, December 7th. The Algarve achieved their second victory in the competition, leaving the relegation zone and having Ryan Gauld as the best player: he scored and watched.

In urgent need of points, Farense scored early in the match. At 10′, Ryan Gauld made a pass to Bilel who, after dribbling past goalkeeper Charles, fired the count. The first game of the game was done.

Marítimo, who started badly, became more offensive, looking for a draw, and Rodrigo Pinho, in the 40th minute, even scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Even before the break, Farense had a good opportunity for the second, but Patrick (45+2′) failed to hit the goal.

The tie for the islanders came in the second half and by Rodrigo Pinho, Marítimo's goalkeeper. The cross was made on the right side and the Brazilian forward headed into the back of the net (60′).

But Farense quickly regained their advantage. At 61′, Cléber made a penalty on Hugo Seco and Ryan Gauld, called to convert, did not miss: 2-1. Marítimo's task became even more thorny in the 67th minute, with the dismissal of Milton, for accumulation of yellow cards.

As for the Algarvians, they knew how to secure their precious advantage. Farense now has 8 points conquered and occupies the 14th place. The next game for the Faro is on the 19th of this month, at the home of the leader Sporting.
