Marta Temido: “We won't be able to have a Christmas like in previous years”

Marta Temido reinforced the idea that had already been passed on by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister

Not advancing information on the restrictions to apply at Christmas time, the Health minister repeated the idea already expressed by António Costa and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa that, this year, the Christmas season cannot be lived in the same way.

At the end of several visits made this Wednesday in some of the areas of the North region most affected by the pandemic, where she followed the hospital effort to respond to Covid and non-Covid activities, the Minister of Health assured that the National Health Service ( NHS) continues to be able to "committently respond to assistance needs".

Recalling that the North "still maintains an incidence that is close to 1300 new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in 14 days", the head of the Ministry of Health considered the transfer of patients between public, private and social hospitals "a very aspect positive”, since it reflects the “ability to use the best of the NHS”.
