Farense fought a lot, resisted until the 86th minute, but lost, tonight, against Sporting de Braga, by 1-0 and dropped to last place in the Primeira Liga.
Farense started well in the match, trying to play on equal terms with Braga, but it was Minho who created the first danger in the game. On minute 12, after a good play on the field, Castro entered the area and left-footed for a tight defense by Rafael Defendi.
On minute 23, Farense's Brazilian goalkeeper again avoided Braga's goal. Galeno ran down the left, crossed for Paulinho's first shot at the far post, but Defendi responded with a great save.
When Braga seemed to want to take the reins of the match, Farense scared "Pedreira" and took advantage of a mistake by Matheus to score for Mansilla. However, the referee of the match, after consulting the VAR, disallowed Gauld's offside goal.
On minute 39, in another good move by Farense, Alex Pinto crossed the ball late from the right, Bilel missed his shot and Ryan Gauld, at the insistence, shot over the goal.
In response, at 42′, the duel between Paulinho and Defendi was repeated and the Farense goalkeeper won again. Castro crossed from the right and the Braga forward headed the ball for another great save by the “Algarvian” keeper.
Back from rest, Braga were the first team to create danger, in the 52nd minute, through Iuri Medeiros. The winger, at the entrance of the area, shot at the goal post of Farense.
As the minutes went by, the pressure from Minho intensified and, in the 71st minute, Rafael Defendi kept the goalless goal again, with another good save, this time Ricardo Horta's shot inside the area.
Farense's resistance lasted until the 86th minute when, after an insistence move, the ball fell to Al Musrati, who shot Defendi.
With this defeat and the victory of Portimonense, this afternoon, the team from the Algarve capital drops to the last place in the league table, with 5 points.
