The Municipality of Silves signed a protocol with the Casa do Povo of S. Bartolomeu de Messines in the amount of 14,2 thousand euros, whose objective is "to support the users of the Socio-Occupational Unit and the team that visits people with serious mental illness on a daily basis" .
At issue is "one of the greatest difficulties that this area presents", the "lack of transport to São Bartolomeu de Messines that allow meeting the needs of users".
This support is added to the almost 54 thousand euros that the local authority had already contracted with the Messinense institution, destined "for the works of the Socio-Occupational Unit".
"The celebration of this protocol has reinforced the importance of social support in the promotion and recovery of mental health of the citizens", says the Chamber.
