Five of the 11 proposals submitted by citizens to this year's edition of the Participatory Budget of Lagoa were approved and will move on to the execution phase.
The winners of the 2020 edition of the OP were announced on the 13th, in a session that took place in the Auditorium of the Centro Cultural do Convento de S. José.
The accepted proposals are the “Placement of humps in the Rotunda do Calvário” (1500 euros, Estômbar), the “Pateiro's Park for physical exercise, leisure and conviviality (Parchal, 12.500 euros), the “Urban Rehabilitation of Rua da Liberdade” ( Lagoa, 20 thousand euros), the “Lagoa Moto Parking” (the whole municipality, 5 thousand euros) and the “Water and Sanitation Network for the Passarinho site (Lagoa, 99.999 euros).

Due to the pandemic, this year's edition of this citizen participation process took place entirely online, on a specific platform for this purpose, called «Lagoa Participa».
«Thus, the usual face-to-face meetings between technicians, mayors and citizens in each of the parishes were replaced by participation through distance communication channels», described the Câmara de Lagoa.
The stipulated reference value was 300 thousand euros and proposals with a maximum value of 100 thousand euros were accepted.
