ABC congratulates Alexandre Quintanilha for the Ciência Viva Grand Prix

Alexandre Quintanilha is president of the General Assembly of the Association for the Development of ABC

The Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) congratulates the researcher Alexandre Quintanilha, deputy and president of the General Assembly of the Association for the Development of ABC, for his recent distinction in the Grande Ciência Viva 2020 award.

Alexandre Quintanilha was awarded by the Ciência Viva agency «for his remarkable action in promoting scientific culture as a researcher, professor, author and disseminator in the areas of biology and biophysics».

With a PhD in Theoretical Physics, Alexandre Quintanilha founded the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC), at the University of Porto.

Nuno Marques, president of the ABC, congratulates Alexandre Quintanilha "for a distinction that is the recognition of decades of work at the service of science in Portugal". And he adds: "it is an honor to have Alexandre Quintanilha on the ABC team."
