Works to remove fiber cement at EB1 de Marmelete start already during the Christmas holidays

The work to remove the fiber cement roof of the Municipal Warehouses in Monchique started this Tuesday, 12 October. These works are part of the plan to replace fiber cement roofs in all public spaces in the municipality, which will continue with interventions in schools.

The works in the Municipal Warehouses, which also include the installation of a new sheet metal cladding, will cost around 100 thousand euros and are intended to «provide more conditions of safety and comfort for our workers», stresses Rui André, Mayor of Monchique.

The mayor also said, in a publication on social networks, that soon, interventions will start at the EB1 in Marmelete and EB 2,3 in Monchique, together with interventions for the rehabilitation and conservation of these buildings.

In the case of the EB1 school in Marmelete, according to Rui André, the work to replace the roof will advance in the Christmas holidays.

In the case of the EB 2,3 in Monchique, the intervention “will be greater than 'just' replacing the roof” and the mayor added that the tender for the project, which “undergoes a fundamental intervention, is being prepared. ».
