Koki Anzai and Shuichi Gonda, from Portimonense, in the Japan squad

To play in private games with Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire

Goalkeeper Shuichi Gonda and defender Koki Anzai, both from Portimonense, are part of Japan's squad for the friendly against Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire, on 9 and 13 October, respectively.

The coach Hajime Moriyasu has the two players from the Algarve's I League football team, in a list in which the majority of players called up line up in teams outside Japan.

Japan, which has not competed since 2019, due to the postponement of the games in the Asian zone qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, compared to covid-19, will face the two African teams in Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
