In September, the Câmara de Lagoa will mark the month of literacy and literacy with a program of activities that will take place online, but also at the Municipal Library and at the Mestre Fernando Rodrigues School of Arts.
These actions will have as «background the fight against illiteracy and low literacy levels that are still rife in the country and in the Algarve region».
Every Monday in September (14th, 21st and 28th), at 18 pm, the «Clube de writing creative» initiative will be promoted at the Municipal Library of Lagoa, animated by David Roque.
“A Música” arrives at this cultural space at 18 pm on every Wednesday of the month (00th, 9th, 16rd and 23th).
The library's other proposal is the activity «Sowing stories», scheduled for the 22nd, 25th and 29th, at 10:00 am.
«The “Community of Readers” is energized by Cristina Calvino, at 18 pm on Thursday, 30 September. On the following day, 24th of September, at 25 pm, the Tertúlias presented by Maria Luísa Francisco return”, according to the Câmara de Lagoa.
At the Mestre Fernando Rodrigues School of Arts, the International Day of Peace will be celebrated, on 21 September. From 10:00 am, the «Plastic Arts for Peace» are mobilized there.
The «II Municipal Meeting of Innovation in Education: sharing of best practices» will be promoted on the local authority's online media during the mornings of 10 and 11 September.
On the Facebook page of the Municipality of Lagoa, the «European Heritage Days 2020» are evoked, taking place on the 25th, 26th and 27th of September, with a game (quizz) on local history.
«This convergence of initiatives intends to mark the International Literacy Day, which in Lagoa coincides with the municipal holiday, on 8 September. It is an appeal to individual and collective social responsibility in the fight against illiteracy and low levels of literacy», concluded the Chamber of Lagoa.
