There are over 9 cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

Data from the epidemiological bulletin this Saturday, September 5th

The Algarve has 9 new cases of Covid-19, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) has just revealed in its epidemiological bulletin this Saturday, 5 September.

The number of cases accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic thus rose to 1159 in the Algarve region.

In neighboring Alentejo, there are only five more cases. In the Alentejo region, 964 cases have been diagnosed since the beginning of the pandemic.

At the national level, there was again an increase in the number of newly infected. According to the DGS, there are now 486 newly infected. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of people who have contracted the new coronavirus has risen to 59.943.

 

 

As for deaths, there are now five more to be lamented, four of them in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region and one in the Center. 1838 people have died in Portugal since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the DGS.

However, there are already 42.793 people who have recovered from the disease (plus 217). With regard to active cases, there are now 264 more, bringing the total to 15.312.

By regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (230) and the North (200) are those that present a greater number of new cases today.

Then come the regions of the Center (4942, plus 39), Algarve (1159, plus 9), Alentejo (964, plus 5), Azores (215) and Madeira (170, plus 4).

In hospitals across the country, there are now 345 people admitted, 6 more than yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care rose to 41 (+1), according to the DGS bulletin.

As for the contacts under surveillance, there are now 34.201, 65 less than yesterday.
