There are 27 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

Data from the epidemiological bulletin this Thursday, September 17

This Wednesday, the 17th of September, the Algarve registers 27 more confirmed cases of Covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), which has just been released.

As for the number of cases accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic, in the Algarve, they already surpass the barrier of 1300 and are now 1304.

In neighboring Alentejo, today there is one more death to mourn and there are still 14 new cases.

At national level, there are over 770 new cases, bringing the accumulated total to 66. This is the biggest daily increase in many weeks.

As for deaths, this Thursday totaled 10 more, being 5 in the North, 2 in the Center, 2 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and 1 in Alentejo. In all, Covid-19 has killed 1888 people in Portugal.

With regard to recovered, since yesterday there have been 266 more (total accumulated number of 44).

This means that there are, this Thursday, 494 more active cases across the country, growing to 19.714 the number of sick people.

 

By regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo was, once again, the one with the highest daily increase: 373 new cases, bringing the accumulated total to 33.

This is followed by the North region (23 984, plus 255), Center (5, plus 480), Algarve (97 1, plus 304), Alentejo (27 1, plus 231), Azores (14, plus 241) and Madeira (1, plus 196).

The number of people admitted to hospitals across the country fell slightly to 480, 2 less than in yesterday's DGS bulletin. Of these, 59 are in the intensive care unit (minus 2).

There are currently 37 804 people in surveillance contact, 517 more than yesterday.
