There are 16 more confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) today, 24 September, which has just been released.
Thus, there are now 1466 cases of the disease diagnosed in the Algarve, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic.
In Alentejo, the total number of infected with the new coronavirus, in accumulated terms, rose to 1382, 11 more than yesterday.
Nationally, there are this Thursday 691 new cases, bringing the total diagnosed since the beginning of the pandemic to 71.156.
In contrast, there were 386 people recovering from the disease, which means that 19 people have already wiped out Covid-46.676 nationwide.
In other words, there are now over 302 active cases, bringing the total to 22.549.
With regard to deaths, today there are 3 more, compared to yesterday, released the DGS, two in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and one in the Center region. In total, 1931 people have died in Portugal, due to Covid-19.
By regions, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the North are those that most contributed to the daily increase in cases, with over 321 and 267 new infected with the new coronavirus, respectively. In Lisbon, in accumulated terms, there are already 36.399 diagnosed cases, while in the North there are 25.606.
It is followed by the Center (5833, plus 73), Algarve (1466, plus 16), Alentejo (1382, plus 11), Azores (259, plus 2) and Madeira (211, plus 1).
In hospitals, the number of hospitalized people rose to 588 (over 17) of which 85 are in the intensive care unit (over 8).
In the last 24 hours, there was an increase in the number of contacts under surveillance, which are over 931, now totaling 41.696.
