Young Musicians Festival Antena2/RTP brings two concerts to Loulé

Tomorrow there is a new concert at the Igreja da Misericórdia in Loulé

The Young Musicians Festival, organized by Antena 2 and RTP, headed south for the first time to Loulé, with two concerts featuring the most promising creators and performers of the new generation.

Yesterday, the 23rd, the Tomás Marques Quarteto (jazz) performed at the Auditorium of the Solar da Música Nova, while tomorrow, the 25th, at 21 pm, the Quarteto Tejo (classical music) performed at the Igreja da Misericórdia de Loulé. Both concerts are broadcast live on Antena 30 and RTP Palco.

Tomás Marques Quarteto is a band formed by the saxophonist who gives the band its name, on purpose for the Young Musicians Award. Being all students of the Lisbon Superior School of Music, Tomás gathered these friends for the competition, thus advancing with a new quartet.

Tomás Marques on saxophone, Samuel Gapp on piano, Rodrigo Correia on double bass and Diogo Alexandre on drums have played with the biggest names in Portuguese jazz and increasingly solidifying these new names in Jazz in Portugal. Around a modern jazz full of influences, they play compositions by the saxophonist. This group was recognized with the Young Musicians Award 2019 in the 'Jazz Combo' category.

The Tejo Quartet, formed in 2018, originated on the banks of the river that gives it its name, in Belém, after the four musicians residing abroad met in a refresher course and played together.

Their enthusiasm for approaching music without formal barriers and experiencing different feelings and ideas together led them to formalize the quartet.

This musical project is a ticket to Portugal from England, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany; is a journey of four individuals to explore their common taste for music.

The concerts are intended for the general public, have an approximate duration of 60 minutes each and admission is free (access logic that extends to the entire festival), but limited, requiring mandatory prior collection of invitations at the Cineteatro reception Louletano.

For more information, interested parties can contact Cineteatro Louletano by phone 289 414 604 (Tuesday to Friday, from 13:00 pm to 18:00 pm) or by email [email protected].

The Youth Musicians Festival 2020 is organized by Antena 2 and RTP, in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Municipality of Loulé and ESMAE – Superior School of Music and Performing Arts (Porto), and runs until 26 September .

In its 10th edition, which includes the online transmission of concerts from previous editions and the realization of some live performances, with audience and with streaming exhibition through Antena 2 and RTP Palco, the festival includes concerts in Loulé, Lisbon and Harbor.
