DGS registers another 6 cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

The Algarve has 6 new cases of Covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), this Sunday, 6 September, which has just been released.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1165 cases of infection have been registered in the Algarve region.

In Alentejo, the increase in cases was higher, having 21 new infections and bringing the cumulative number since the start of the pandemic to 985.

Nationally, there was an increase in cases less than the last few days, with 315 new infections. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 60.258 cases in Portugal.

As for deaths, two more were registered this Sunday, both in the Lisbon region. According to the DGS bulletin, 1840 people have died with Covid-19.

The number of newly recovered was fixed at 160, which means that the number of active cases in Portugal increased (+153) to 15.465. Since the start of the pandemic, 42.953 people have recovered from the disease.

By region, the North was the area of ​​the country with the highest increase in cases, 143, bringing the total to 21.797 infections. Lisboa and Vale do Tejo have over 124 infected and total 30.963 cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Center region has had 4961 infections (+19 cases this Sunday). The Algarve follows with 1165 accumulated cases (+6), the Alentejo with 985 (+21), the Azores with 217 (+2) and Madeira with 170 (no new cases).

In hospitals across the country, there are now 354 people admitted, 9 more than yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care rose to 43 (+2), according to the DGS bulletin.

As for the contacts under surveillance, there are now 34.240, 39 more than yesterday.
